TEVan Battery Type/Chemistry Identification

The 1993 TEVans were offered in two different battery
chemistry types. First the SAFE NiCD (Nickel–cadmium), and
second, the Eagle-Picher NIFE (Nickel-Iron). Without
removal of the battery trays, there are only
two ways of identifying a TEVans battery chemistry.
The first is to open the controller/charger casing and
review the charging logic card part number, the second is
to review the exterior battery box connections as
outlined below.
