It is not often acknowledged, but like GM and the EV1 crushing
saga, Toyota also forceably crushed thousands of
their Rav4-EVs during the same time periods and events
that were widely published regarding GM's EV1.  Toyota generally
got a 'pass' because they had publically sold 328 model
year 2002 and '03 Rav4-EVs, leaving at lease
a small portion of the fleet in private hands.  c2024 many of
the 328 privately held Rav4-EVs are still in use, although without
any factory support from Toyota.
